Goldcorp Inc Gets A New CEO
Kevin McArthur, Ex-CEO of world's third largest gold producer Goldcorp Inc retired from the posts of Company's President and Chief Executive Officer on December 31st 2008. The man with a midas touch has been replaced by super-enigmatic Charles "Chuck" Jeannes, as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Goldcorp Inc.
Goldcorp Inc is based in Northern American country of Canada, has various prestigious projects in the pipeline. The record productions of the company in 2006, brought it up as the largest gold producer in Canada. However, since the merger with the Glamis Gold Company the Goldcorp has not seen back. It is raging a revolution with the streamlining of its workforce, exploration and mining technology.
Although, Kevin McArthur has retired but he will serve through the 2009, as the Advisor to the CEO. He will also serve as a director on the Goldcorp's board. Charles Jeannes more commonly referred as Chuck Jeannes in Goldcrop is a close colleague as well as business partner of Kevin McArthur for over 20 years.He is one of the most known faces and top professionals of the gold mining industry. Before being appointed as the new President and CEO of Goldcorp, he was serving as Goldcorp's Executive Vice President, Corporate Development.
Mr. Charles Jeannes has enormous experience in various capacities in the natural resources sector. To be precise he is over 25 years of experience behind him. Before joining Goldcorp Inc., he was serving Glamis Gold as its Executive Vice President. He was instrumental in that company's success in the gold mining business.
